I'm not sure in my case that I can answer your question. But I had some positive experience with calcium pills. Maybe that information can help you some.
Years before I linked a host of fibromyalgia symptoms to my mercury-silver dental amalgams, I experimented with calcium pills (later with pills that included magnesium too). It helped my chest pains and my muscle/joint pain. Since I wanted to avoid taking pills all the time, I switched my diet to a healthy one (this was about 18 years ago). Slowly I made some limited improvement.
To this day, I have no idea why the pills helped me. It was just one of my experiments to try to find a cure of this horrible condition.
Eventually, after the replacement of the dental amalgams with white non-toxic fillings about 8 years ago, and improved diet, I'm now cured (or nearly cured) of this affliction. It's a story that spans decades.
Also, I wanted to mention to the readers out there, please be careful with calcium pills. I read that they can, for some individuals, lead to the formation of kidney stones if taken in excess.
