Angry Cruel People in the World

Hey everyone,
I am still here but just been sitting back and reading everyone's post. I have to vent. My boss and some other people in my office are just about to drive me to the edge. I am not sure what to do. Some people in my office make fun of me because of my illness they talk about me behind my back and my boss is not any better. I am so angry that I could just kill someone (just an expression). Everytime this happens in my office I come home and cry and then my pain gets even worse. I got my doctor to write a statement of this illness and how I cannot do any heavy lifting etc. but my boss has ignored the whole thing. Any ideas? I don't have much finesse left in me at this point and I get so angry I could tell someone off at any time. I try to hold the tongue but it is very difficult. My boss keeps telling how I miss to much work etc which makes me feel worse. Also he wants me to take a medical retirement which isn't his decision. Sorry for the long post. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hope everyone gets to feeling better.

Hi Donna,
I'm sorry you are having the problems at your work. I wish people who didn't have this disease could understand and be sympathetic. If we told people we had cancer or something else life threatening, there would be alot of sympathy. I don't truly wish I had something like that and I don't want pity, but I'd at least appreciate some understanding and not be ridiculed. I, like all of you, did not choose to have Fibromyalgia. Shoot, I'd give away all my material possessions just to get rid of it and be back to the way I once was! It figures I would be diagnosed with an illness that alot of people laugh at and think we are making up the symptoms!
I'm lucky that I don't have to work; I don't know how people do it. With feeling horrible, making so many mistakes, taking time off when my kids are sick AND when I am sick...I wouldn't be a good employee for any company. I'm better off (and so is everyone else) staying home. Have you ever shown your boss (or his boss) some of the letters floating around about being compassionate to people with Fibromyalgia? Maybe you could check into that.
I hope your week goes better tomorrow. Good luck. At least we understand and support you, if that's any consolation! Take care.

That is disgusting and also discriminating. Does your Boss have a Boss? I would print out a few of the reports that are under 20 pages and give them to to them and personel. Does you office have a legal dept. If so I'd talk to them to. Also, if you can walk away from them and ignoir there grossly ignorant behavior. If you can change depts or if you must a new company. Your sanity is what counts. I wish you luck. We understand and many of us have been in similar situations.

Take care ~Kim & Gary~

Thanks for your replies. I am going to talk to his
boss and see if I cannot move out of the department I
am in. I cannot stand to keep getting upset everyday
it is ruining my life and making me ill and what makes me even madder is that's what these people want. I have showed my boss information on the illness and he chooses to ignore it at this time. So it's time to go over his head to talk to someone else. I talked to my husband and he agrees I need to do something. I have tried ignoring this situation and it just makes everthing worse.
