I've gone from being a coffeeholic to being a decaffeinated drinker. At my MD's advice, I gave up all caffeine except for an occasional tea or soda (less than one per week). It has helped with all of my symptoms. I don't know if the coffee per se was causing the worsening of my symptoms, or if the caffeine kept me from getting good sleep, which worsened the symptoms. Doing away with caffeine didn't take away the FMS, but it did make it more manageable.
Nowadays, if I even drink even one regular cup of coffee anytime during the day, I sleep fitfully that night (if at all!)
