New to Fibromyalgia - Fibromyalgia Message Board

Hi, I'm new to this board. I'm so amazed that everything that all my illnesses are listed under the symptoms for FMS. I started with migraines and sinsus headaches, I then developed TMJ and Tinnus, then I discovered I had endometreosis. A few years ago I developed Vulvodynia and most recently carpal tunnel syndrome, which I am dealing with today. I thought I was going crazy or something. I couldn't imagine why all these things were going wrong with me. And I am totally sick of doctors throwing their hands up in the air, telling me that they can't help me.

Although I have to say I am not in consent pain like some others. I do have tenderness in my thighs, butt and arms. But only to the touch. So, I guess I should consider myself lucky in that respect.

This capal tunnel is driving me crazy. It just doesn't want to go away no matter how much I rest it or excercise it. I'm in physical therapy now but doing the excercises makes it hurt more.

I think I had a fibro flare up this weekend. I woke up Sunday and I felt like I got ran over by a mack truck and then it backed up and ran me over again. My head hurt, I felt nausea, and I had a low grade fever of 99.9. I totally felt like crap. But the next day, yesterday I was fine. How wierd!!! Was that a flare up? How can you be so sick one day and perfectly fine the next??

I haven't found one doctor to help me with everything. In this day and age you have to go to a specialist for each symptom. I have an appt. with a allergist in a few weeks because my family doctor put me on allegra because I complained of sinsus headaches. He told me it's probably allergies. Well I would like to know what exactly I'm allergic to before I continue taking medication for allergies that I'm not even sure I have. I also have an appt. with a Rheumatologist but he's so booked that my appt. isn't until April 23rd.

Well anyway, thanks for listening to me complain and letting me add my two cents to this board.

Hi, vgrady!

I can't speak for everyone else here and I'm certainly not the poster child for fibromyalgia symptoms, but I can tell you that if I ever had a flare up that lasted one day and I felt perfectly fine the next day, I would get down on my hands and knees & thank all the powers that be..

Generally, when I have a flare up (knock on wood), it takes weeks to get it back under control.. And even at that point, I still feel bad (more like I've been run over by a volkswagen than the mack truck flare up feeling)..

Welcome, I have felt that way a few times. Usually a flair last me weeks to months and the longet 2 years. If you haven't read the post names New to board.... and IN A NUT SHELL. please do there is a lot of research links there and a direcory type thing for finding doctors. Good luck and welcome,
