Hi Marti,
Yep, shoulder pain and it STINKS! I do, however, have an alternative med solution that works for me, and has worked well for and 3 of 5 people I have used the procedure on. One of the 2 it didn't work for was just too antsy to sit still long enough for it to work, and the other has significant emotional problems creating blocks to healing. Anyway, here goes:
The process is called 'moxibustion' and has been used by healers from the beginning of memory. A tightly-packed 'cigarette' rolled of the herb mugwort is used. This cig. is lit and held as close as possible, without burning the skin, to the injured/sore site. This is moved around over the skin of the injury so as to warm, yet not burn, the area. Great care must be taken to not cause any burns, the cig. must be kept moving slowly over the area until the cig. is too small to work with.
The effects may be further enhanced by applying saran-type wrap over the area, and covering with moist heat for aprox. 20 min.
a gradual improvement should be noted over the next 2-3 days. This procedure can be repeated as often as necessary until relief is achieved, tho I wouldn't do it more than once week (I've never found it necessary).
Moxibustion sticks are available at health food stores. If not, the dried herb can be rolled in cigarette papers availabe at most stores.
Hope this helps
Oh, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Marti!!!!
