Question Does anyone find readinng these posts become more depressed

Hello everyone. I know find helpful posts but I am wondering if you become more depressed reading about all of the people in pain and to know that there is no cure. I don't know how to accept that I may live the rest of my life like this. I want to be able to do things with my daughter Sara. She is 4 but has much older siblings to do things with her. I am thankful for that, however it is so hard to explain what I am going through with my little girl. I am even taking paxil, but it does not help a lot. Please help me with some coping strategies. Is it hard for any of you to read this post without becoming affected by it? Kathy

Kathy, I know this may sound really bad but I like to read these posts. This is the terrible part. I see people who are much worse off than I am and I feel grateful that I "only" have muscle spasms--fibro and mps. I feel really bad that people are so miserable. Before I found this board I had no one to talk to. Now I log on three times a day to see what people are saying. It's like I have someone to talk to again. We share med info, have someone to bounce our problems off of. We rant and rave. On the other hand, we boost each other up and commiserate with each other. So, for me, I now have something to look forward to. I even have moments where I wonder what someone from the board is doing. Right now I'm dying of couriosity about MookieMikes big announcement! Everyone gets different benefits from different things.

As for you daughter, just do the best you can. You can't do any more than that. Take your rests when she takes her rests. Then you will be fresher for her. Let your house go. Who cares if it is dusty. Your kids are priority and the rest can take care of itself.

Hi Kathy....some people do live with worse things. I am so thankful to atleast have both my arms and legs and I can see, hear, taste and smell things. I'm not trying to belittle fibromyalgia, but I guess it's all in how you look at life...that counts.

Like they say...is your glass half empty...or half full?

It IS sad to read of how much pain people are in. but that's what these boards are here for, so we can lean on each other through those bad times.

"Within every dark cloud, there is always a silver lining."

We just have to think positive thoughts and always keep looking for the good things life has to offer. We may not be able to run and play with our kids, but there are alot of other things we can do. And anytime spent with our children...is always quality time...and wonderful memories to charish, for both.

Life is very short...too short to be dwelling on anything negative. Take things day by day and learn to appreciate all those little things that you CAN do....you'll be ok.

sincerely,
cat

Thanks Tolern, you said it much better than I did. Sorry about the double note. I don't know how to repair my submissions.
