If no pain...but all other symptoms..is this FMS? - Fibromyalgia Message Board

Just wondering. I've had many, many, many of the FMS symptoms for the past four years. Stomach problems, twitching, pins & needles, frequent urination, jaw tightness, numbness in feet, tired feeling, achey muscles....but no real pain. I've had MRIs, Neurologist testing, several rounds of blood tests...with no problems? Thyroid was checked, etc. Dr. promise me I don't have MS, etc. So...do I have FMS or is this just anxiety? As I said earlier...I don't really have "pain"...just a general malaise? Thoughts?

Hi Quattrosister! I seem to be in the same boat as you. I get pain on & off, but not to the point where it is debilitating or keeps me from doing things. (Thank God) You are not human if you don't experience any pain throughout your life. I get all the other weird symptoms though; twitching, pins & needles, tremors, numbness, jaw tightness, dizzy, etc......
I've been to countless doctors & had so many tests too. I haven't been dxd w/FMS. One of my doctors said it could be FMS, but it's hard to diagnose. It is basically diagnosed when EVERYTHING else is ruled out. I've convinced myself that I had MS then Lymes then maybe it is stress, who knows! I check in with these boards once in awhile because you really do learn a lot from everyone. I have become a healthier person & I have these boards to thank.

To give an official AMA FMS diagnosis, the doctor runs several blood tests, urine tests, X-rays, and anything else that can be thought of that might explain the symptoms. If these are all negative and you have pain at 11 out of 18 pressure points that the doctor presses on and a history of the FMS symptoms occurring for at least six months, the doctor can call the group of symptoms you express FMS (Fibromyalgia Syndrome). If the doctor can find a cause for your symptoms you will have that diagnosis instead of FMS.

A lot of doctors do not understand chronic mercury poisoning sickness from dental amalgams. It's controversial, but I'm glad that I have had mine removed. I'm able to do things that I never thought possible....

You can read about this on the internet. Also it's possible that some of these artificial sweetners can cause problems, although that is an area I'm not familar with. I think toxins that are poisoning us are often overlooked by doctors. When they can't find anything wrong for us, it's time to look at other things outside their knowledge and experience.
