I was just diagnosed tuesday with Fibro, my doc gave me Vicoden ES for the pain . but for the last two days it has been EXTREME I have to take 2 or 3 to relieve the pain, but I don't want to do this because I will run out sooner, and he will think im misusing my medicine, I called and left a message that it is not working, but was it too soon for me to call him and tell him that (was just seen 3 days ago) Im fearing he will think im a junky looking for a fix, and not give me anything else, But my pain is REAL!! Im so depressed anymore, has this happened to anyone else, I have tried everything for the pain , and nothing is working. Is there anything stronger than Vicodin that will work?? Someone help please?!

Try liguid calcium magnesium from the Health Food Store. It has to be liquid to get into the tissues. It is a great pain killer. To start: 2 tablespoons in am and 2 tablespoons in evening. Next day the same, then 3rd day you should feel better and w/every day use you will find great relief. I am asking around about a cal/mag shot, they use to do this years ago for pain. Ask your doctor. I have to use a liq w/no carbs or sugars and so far Haven't found one that is reasonable priced.

There are two drugs that you can try. One is Ultracet or Ultram. The other is Neurontin. Both help with pain.
Also, some mild muscle relaxants can ease pain as well.

If you are having pain that your present medication is not releiving, call your doctor's office and tell him that. (Try not to worry about looking like a drug seeker. Some pain is unbearable and you have to get that across to your doctor!)

Ask for him to call your pharmacy to prescribe one of these or something that will ease the pain. No one should have to be in constant pain, but it isn't easy to find the right medication that eases it.
Check your diet for things that cause a flare, such as MSG and nitrates. Try to stick with natural basic foods. It takes some effort to cook and eat foods that do not contain additives. I stick to basic simple meals and don't use foods with powdered mixes, such as hamburger helper or macaroni with the powdered cheeses. Don't use Velveeta or other processed cheeses. I find that staying away from these kinds of foods helps to prevent flares, in my experience. MistyMisty

Misty hit the nail on the head by recommending Ultram or Neurontin, these are two meds that are very helpful. And, as Misty pointed out, a muscle relaxant such as Soma or Flexeril may be helpful too. My question is, has your doctor given you an anti-depressant? You probably need an anti-depressant to go along with the other meds. And it does take some time for you to notice a difference. You need to take them as prescribed, don't forget to take them or skip a dose. Drink lots of water and try and intake as much fiber as possible to help flush toxins from your system.
