| Re: new here and looking for suggestions/advise...thanks
Welcome Luvon,
I completely understand where you are coming from!!! And i'm sure there are others on this board who have been in the same boat. I thought I was going crazy or was some kind of hypochondriac before I was diagnosed completley by accident.
I can distinctly remember the first winter that my symptoms reared their ugly heads!!! It was flu season & alot of people in my office were coming down with the flu. I would be convinced that I had gotten the flu also cuz I felt fatigued & achy & would go home that nite convinced I had the flu like everyone else in the office. Then the next day I would be fine!!! This went on that whole winter & I never talked to anyone about it except for my husband cuz I didn't want to sound like a looney toon!! If I hadn't been seeing a neuro surgeon for the neck problems that ultimately required surgery, I wouldv'e never been diagnosed & would probably still be thinking I was a hypochondriac!!! Thanks to a diligent neurosurgeon who saw that the symptoms I was complaining about didn't match up with my neck problems & referred me to a neurologist who thru process of elimination diagnosed me with fibro.
The advice that I want to give you is to not discount what your feeling. Fibromyalgia is very real & you are the only one who can make yourself feel better. It sounds like you mite have it but the only one who can tell you for sure is a doctor. Diagnosis is just the beginning.......
Good luck & God Bless
