welcome to the boards rueanne,
yes it will show up. the tests are not fun, did that 3 times. i had surgery on both my hands in 96. the doc who did the surgery said later he thought it was a mistake as he did not see much compression of the nerve and the tunnel was not that bad.
in hindsight i feel it was the first real manifestation of my fibro. always best to do the test and know for sure. if you do have it and you do elect for surgery be sure you follow up with plenty of p.t.
there are many docs now who are using p.t. as a first step. it is a wise one. the doc who did me now follows that path. any surgery will affect fibro. and it lingers for years in the spot. fibro likes to find our weak areas and go for it.
