Are There Good Foods & Bad Foods For Fm??

Hi every1

I'm just wondering, does anyone know if there are certain foods that cause flair ups?? I have read that FM is caused by a lack of Serotonin in the blood??
The foods that create serotonin in your blood, are ALL FOODS I TRY to AVOID!! All carbs - potatoes, starchy veggies, ect.
Has anyone heard of that??

Absolutely. I try very hard to stay away from all things white: potatoes, white pasta, bread, etc. Sugar is another culprit. I stopped snacking on my usual Starbursts and Laffy Taffy, and I've noticed a difference. Triggers own't be the same for everyone. Red wine is TERRIBLE!! White wine seems to be okay, but oh man the pain is bad with red wine. Also, many people with FMS are deficient in vitamins, so I eat spinach salads and as many fruits and veggies as I can (I also take a mega prenatal vitamin). Let's see what else...coffee, carbonated beverages, artificial sweeteners. Now I love my Diet Dr. Peppers, but I have learned to drink only a little everyday. Water is HUGE. I've really noticed a difference with this. My body really starts to ache when I don't drink enough water. Water's kind of boring to me so I switch it up with Propel Fitness Water because it has minimal sugar and lots of vitamins.

SUGAR....Sugar is oh so bad for me anyway. Although I still have my cravings for sugar. I do try to stay away from it as much as possible. I try to drink lots of water and that helps. I drink between 60 and 80 oz. a day. I do drink coffee--decaf of course but it still has some caffiene. I take lots of vitamins, I think a really good one to take if you aren't into vitamins is Malic Acid as Magnesium (straight magnesium can cause diarrhea) it is very good for your muscles.
