| help, what's going on?
I have had FM for nearly four years. The last few months I have been in the most godawful flare. Extreme pain, fatigue, the whole kit and kaboodle. During this flare I have started getting extreme pain in the inner corner of my right eye, like a needle being poked in it. It lasts maybe 30 seconds, then goes away but happens at least once a day, up to four times a day, and only in my right eye. I get pain that runs from the inner corner down around the eye socket on my cheek too. Hurts to wear my glasses. I also have been getting terrible headaches that last for days. It goes away if I take 1000mg of acetominophen but returns when it wears off. I may have one or two days a week headache-free. Sometimes I get the headache after the eye pain and sometimes I have both occuring separately. I am on 30 mg of cymbalta which cannot be increased because I could not tolerate it, 225 mg of lyrica, 30 mg of flexeril, levbid and miralax for IBS, and percocet for when the fm pain is really bad (does not help the eye pain or headache). My doctor referred me to a rheumy who called me and said he doesn't treat fm anymore. There are no local rheumys and the nearest ones are in Wyoming and Colorado, out of my insurance network. So my question is, what the heck is going on with my eye? I know I should see an opthamologist, but until I can get in, does anyone have any thoughts and ideas about what I can do in the meantime for relief?
Thanks for your help.
