Re: New Member Question - Kenalog Injections for Fibromyalgia Pain
Terri - hi. If the Kenalog shots are cortisone, then I have had them. I'm not sure if Kenalog is a brand name? I've had them in my hands, my hip, and wrists. When they were in my hands, the cortisone shots definitely helped my hands, visibly too, because as soon as I got the shot once, my "triggered" thumb, (locked in a folded position) came free within minutes of the injection. The one in my hip, I'm not sure - any help it gave me was short lived. So I think if they are cortisone, and they are perfectly placed for the exact spot in the joint, the shots help. Perhaps the hip area is too large for this type of shot.
Don't forget Terri, that these may not be the kind of shots your doc is calling for. Hope someone else responds who has more info about them.
wishing you peace and comfort,
