| Re: fibromyalgia and children and stomach problem
Hi bc,
Wow, sorry that your little one is so ill. Fibro is fibro no matter how old you are. Do you have any pain specialists? That's what I've done for over 17 years. Maybe you can get info from fibro support groups. She has so many health problems that I imagine it is hard for a doctor to treat her. The only other thing I can think of is maybe to take her to an infectious disease doctor. My daughter was 24 at the time and she had like flu and hurt and was vomiting and losing weight, etc.. Test she had been given came back with false positives, etc.. I made her an appt. with an infectious disease doc and he admitted her to the hospital right from the office. Out of all these symptoms that stumped the other doctors he looked at her and pretty much knew what was wrong with her. Ended up she had a very rare type of heart valve problem and 8 long weeks of IV's 24-7 and goes to a cardiologist evey 4 months. That was five years ago. This is not to scare you or anything, but sometimes when a person sees the same thing over and over they aren't able to look passed it and see something else. When I first got sick with fibro the doctors I think didn't know what to do anymore and rheumys and neuro doctors couldn't get passed things either. I went to a young new doctor and got a new young pain specialist and bingo, my whole world changed. I'm not cured, but I sure have a better quality of life than I did without them. I hope I've been of a little help. My prayers go out to you and your family.
