does anyone get........

the feeling of pulled muscles when theyre only sitting. i sit in 2 hour lectures and am continuously rotating my legs and arms to avoid stiffness, yet when i get up i feel like ive sat still for hours.its a cramp like feeling, i often feel like ive pulled my buttock muscles from just sitting still to long, my shoulderblades feel the same.

how do you avoid this when sometimes you just have to sit?

i get the same after typing or bending my arms too long or just sitting. i was also wondering if anyone gets the feeling theyve hit theyre funny bone when they havent and it goes right down their arms, i get sore elbows on the outside just up above the boney part and sharp cramps in my hands and fingers.

its weird, i was walking today and my shins felt like there was something digging into them when i walked like i was banging against something, i feel bruised but im not and its a sharp pain.i walk a lot but after so long if im tired i cant take it, my body is actually seeting with pain and my legs feel like their soaking in poison, especially my calf muscles.

im going to start trying yoga these days, ive been attemtping to control IBS with healthy eating but im gonna have to make real big changes even just to have energy. my biggest problem is smoking and red bull-i live off red bull to stay awake, i work and am a student at the same time, it is difficult to balance it all out and sometimes i NEED to stay up all night for college work so i feel it doesnt give me much choice but to take energy drinks and paracetamol.

anyone else get these weird things from just simply sitting-i feel 90 yrs old sometimes.

Re: does anyone get........

You may or may not have fibromyalgia and / or chronic myfascial pain. I would find a rheumy to test for the tender points. and i would go to a pain clinic that treats cmp. I am not a doctor, I am just telling you what helped me.

I went through a year or so period where it was painful to sit down at all. Mostly my buttocks and back and shoulders hurt. at onset i couldn't walk at the park due to fatigue. I would lay down in the grass at the park and my husband would go get the car to pick me up. Because our central nervous system is overloaded if we have fms, I would cut out all the caffeine. and your body needs time to regenerate and heal. I had trigger point injections for the muscular knots. If you do have fibro, you are probably hitting a tender point on something, i do that all the time, hurts.

I have heard that lyrica helps with the leg pain. it was originally used for peripheral neuropathy.

I hope that you feel better soon

Re: does anyone get........

hi, i have fibro, i got tested for all sorts and all was negative, it does fit, i have IBS, depression etc. im waiting for physio and am considering altaring my current meds to suit everything.

my back is in knots often and my neck, id love a giant injection that could defuse the tight painful knots.

tonight i was meant to go to a freinds party i havent seen in years, instead im tired, my effort is being out into tidying my room and reading, i had a long day(all i did was go shopping) but for me i get tired then.

i have looked into dietry changes, im avoiding caffinated drinks, off fozzy drinks, im trying to increase my meat, i eat wholemeal right now and im cutting waaay down on suger. im also trying to drink more water. i take probiotics and am going to try to eat more fruit. i also have cod liver stuff for joints and bones. im trying to stay away from painkillers as i seem to be on a constanr stream of meds here.

i invested today in a yoga dvd set for beginners to help stretch myself out, i walk a lot but it doesnt seem to make much difference.

any other tips you could give me??

Re: does anyone get........

hi chick..i also have fibro/cmp...everything you listed about your body is like you were talking about mine. it is hard with fibro to be in any position for to long. also, you need to exercise, but do it slowly so it does'nt bring you pain. yoga is probably a good one to try.
i take a muscle relaxer, anti-inflammatory, cymbalta, and a sleeping pill every day. i have a pain killer if i get really bad. i have gotten trigger point injections, also, and they work great for me.
hope you find what will work well for you...feel better, and let us know how you are doing, take care....bevann

Re: does anyone get........

wow, it sounds like you have made a lot of positive changes in your life. Yoga may be too strenuous, was for me, now i just do stretches with a stretch elastic thing with a place for your hands. I have found the best stretch for me is to lay down put the strap on one foot and lift it above my chest and keep the other leg down. I stretches the calves and the glutes. l also lay down and cross my legs and put my hands behing my head. Lean the legs to the floor while turning your head the opposite direction. feel so good on my back.

I don't know if probiotics includes magesium and malic acid but both of these help me.
I also swim.

anyway i am so impressed with your post, you have motivated me to take better care of myself.
