I was diagnosed with fibro 10 years ago. I get horrible pain in the top middle section of my stomach. Does anyone know why? Is this just another symptom of fibro. Does anyone know what I can take or what to avoid
I have stomach pain and was diagnosed with gastroparesis. There are many reasons why your stomach can be in pain though. You might want to tell your doctor, and think about seeing a gastrointestinal specialist doctor who may be able to better address your stomach issues.
mrsbm, if the pains are serious and regular you may want to get them checked out. Either with your regular doc or a gastroenterologist. It could be many things, best to have it checked out if it is bothersome, then you will know and have the peace of mind.
I had deja vu when I read your post. I had the same type of pain for many years. Eventually it went away, so I'm not sure what caused it or why it retreated. I never bothered with the doctor doing anything to find out why. I'd been to many places about other symptoms and I was used to the usual bone-headed diagnosis that came with having FMS back in the 60's and 70's. Anyway, it is probably worth your time to see what a gastro specialist has to say.
Yes, I am going through this right now. It's like the ribs and the sides, goes to the back, but the worst is right at the top of stomach, under the breasts. Sometimes I get chest pains too.
I think it's fibro but I actually just went to a gastro dr. today and he's ordering and ultrasound to make sure it's not gallbladder or an ulcer. If that is OK, then I will chalk it up to fibro. I hate this disease, there's always another misery!
