Celebrex for Fibro anyone? - Fibromyalgia Message Board

I was diagnosed with Fibro last November. I had been taking 300mg of Wellbutrin XL for depression. My doctor lowered my Wellbutrin XL to 150mg and added Pristiq 50mg. She also added Celebrex if needed. She thought the Pristiq would help with the pain. It helped greatly with the pain and I slept well at night. The down side was I couldn't keep my eyes open during the day and the yawning was awful. Taking it at night did not help. I also gained 10lbs in 4 months and I was constantly bloated. My orgasams were completely gone also. The Wellbutrin did not help with this. I've only been off the Pristiq for a week and my orgasms are back in full force again. (I will never get off my Wellbutrin) it has been a wonder drug for me. My pain unfortunately is returning slowly. I've used the Celebrex only once or twice and it does seems to help with the pain. Has anyone used Celebrex long term for Fibro and if so, did you have side affects? There has been alot of discussions about this drug and the heart. It does help with my pain but I am worried about side affects. There is so little that seems to help with Fibro pain. I would appreciate any feedback.

I took celebrex for 4 yrs. It helped with the pain. The new doc changed me to lodine which does not work as well for me.

I have fm and have found that nsaids like celebrix, lodine etc only irritate your stomach after awhile...my dr put me on lyrica and it is like a miracle...you might want to read up on it....

The Doctor tried me on Lyrica in November. Unfortunately I can't take it. I swelled up. This condition we have is awful. I hope I can find something that won't be so irritating to the stomach. I have IBS also and certainly don't need a flare up of that. For now, I will try to use this when I absolutely need it. I see the Doc again in June. She may have other ideas.

I didn't have any luck on Celebrex or Lyrica, either.
