Savella Question

I have been taking savella for 3wks. It was helping, but now I have had a headache and neausea for the past 5 days. Nothing helps the headaches. I stopped the savella for 2 days and now I am starting to flare. If I stick with the savella will all the symptoms eventually stop? And now that I did stop it is it ok to just start again where I left off? Like a lot of you I just don't know what to do anymore.
Also having the kids home for the summer is killing me. I have a 13 yr old who always wants to be driven places and a 6 yr old who always wants me to play Star Wars and Cowboys and Indians. How do those of you with small children home all year do it?

Re: Savella Question

I also had the bad headaches and it made my fibro pain worse. My Dr made me stop taking it. I'm back on cymbalta.

Re: Savella Question

Hi elle,
I have been on Savella for about 2 months now give or take a week. (dont remember the exact week)

You can't expect miricles over night. It is not a wonder drug. It is not going to cure you. At least that is what I believe.

I am better then what I was. I was in pain almost every day with severe flares that made me nauseas and the severe headaches like someone was stabbing me. Muscle twitchingt, pain through out my gody, Costrochronditus... Then I was put on Amitryptaline,( my rhumy already had me on Declifonac and Volteran Gel prior to the amitryptaline ) which helped somewhat. I slept better, still had flares. Then he adeed the Savella. I was loopy on this med in the first 2-3 weeks, still had flares with the nausea and the whole thing, then started to feel better. I would say after about 1-month I noticed my svere flares which could last for at least a week straight got less and not as often. I was actualy down to 1 day a week on a flare !!! AWSOME !! I still deal with pain every day but managable..alot more managable then previously. Still get stiff and problems with my hands.

I did recently have a real bad flare about a week ago, but I had a bladder and yeast infection at the same time (LUCKY ME ) soooo that triggered a major flare and that lasted almost a week. Even my Costro kicked up..hate thaT THING..MY SKIN WAS EVEN BURNING UGH. But that is over and done with.

I did have one major reaction to the med and that was sweating. That was brutal, but that is much better now.

I say give it a chance. I saw my rhumy and I still have the Trigger Points or hot spot or whatever they call it but not as severe as last time. Thats a plus !! I say YES to Savella at least for me for now. For how long?? That is the question? Hopefuly it IS the answer, but I am not sure.

At 3-weeks you should be on the 50mg?

Re: Savella Question

Thanks for the replies. I am trying to stick with it. I also have the severe sweating. It is horrible. The headaches have subsided, but now sometimes I feel like I am on speed. I go to my rhume nest week so I'll just wait and see what he says. This fibro thing is a real pain in the......everything!
