Hi,
Just a short query, and I'm not sure if I have posted this before (damn fibro fog! LOL)... my doctor previously prescribed me cortisone (prednisolone) tablets at 5mg a day ongoing, which I refused to take as 1. 5mg does nothing, and 2. I prefer to only take this sort of drug when in a flare that I am finding unmanageable by other methods. Recently I have had quite a few flares (more like an ongoing non stop flare for weeks), and the dr has put me on a high dose of prednisolone in an effort to relieve the symptoms (50mg p/d). I have been finding that it has seemed to help reduce the pain, although the cortisone makes me moody. BUT - at the same time I have been resting, and am not sure if it's the cortisone or the rest that is helping. Seems even on the cortisone if I start doing much of anything I am in pain again (albeit not the extreme fist clenching pain i was in prior to the cortisone). I am now reducing the cortisone and finding my pain is seeping back in and my skin is burning again. Anyway, what I wondered is.... is anyone else being prescribed cortisone for their treatment because I was of the belief that cortisone didn't help fibro?
