Fibro Fatigue - Fibromyalgia Message Board

Hi All! Haven't used the message boards in a LONG time due to work. I've been dealing with FM since 2002 and have gone though better times than lately. Besides the major increase in pain over the past 4 months, I've watched my fatigue increase 100%. Right now I'm only on Fentanyl 50 microgram every 48 hours and Oxy as needed for pain (both extended and immediate release).

I was on Lyrica 300mg a day for a year but it seemed to stop working and we tried Sevella for 3 months (100mg a day)with only a minimal decrease in pain/fatigue for the first month. I've been on Trazodone since 2002 for sleep and that works well. I also take Xanac when I'm really stressed to help lower the pain due to that(3-4 times a week).

I had only tried Provigil in the past for the fatigue which I didn't tolerate well and the insurance didn't cover.

What have other members here tried for fatigue. I know I need to try to start excersizing again but the fatigue is to the point taht I wokr 8 hours and go home and lay down. The weekends I'll sleep 10-14 hours a night and still feel exhausted. I've lost any energy to do things like fishing which I LOVE to do. I even used to play poker to make a few $$ but don't have the energy or alertness to do that with any success.

I go back to my doc next week and would like to discuss possible medication/treatment options. As of now, I don't know how I'll hold down my job which is a REALLY scary thought and it bothers me extremely!

hello zub, i feel the same way. i also have tried 300mgs of lyrica for about a year but i built up a tolerance on it. i am currently on the savella. it worked great for about a month, now its just been going downhill ever since. i currently take tramadol for pain. mine is 50mg. four times a day. my sister was on the same thing for arthritis and hers said 2 pills four times a day. when i take one i get very little relief but if i take two, wow what a difference. i asked my doctor to increase the strenghth for me and he absolutely will not. he says i am taking the most i can and i know that is a bare face lie. also hydrocodone works miracles for me. i was practically pain free and could accomplish so much with no pain the day after. but again my doc will not prescribe this for me. i can not afford to go to pain management right now, so i have to take what he gives me. i cannot fathom how people are able to work with fibro and ones that have children to take care of. i really worry about them. i have a sister-in-law who gets all and every hard drug you can think of. she is a total zombie. she forgets to pick her kids up at school, wrecked her car many times. i do know i dont want to be like that. i would rather take my pain. i have offered many times to take the kids to school and pick them up for their safety. i will figure something out. anyway, i hope others can give you some advice of options to ask for from your doctor. take care!
