Blood work was fine... I'm not - Fibromyalgia Message Board

Ok, so got TONS of things tested in my blood by my doctor and he says that everything was normal and my gyno had once told me that if i ever feel muscle spasms to get my potassium checked (I take one medication *Yaz* that can increase that) well, have had spasms for about 4 yrs So I told my gen doc to add that too the list. So the potassium levels were normal but the nurse preceded to call me back and tell me to stop taking it and get levels checked in a month. Mean while I could hardly get out of bed this morning and when I did I felt like my head was the size of a basketball and my nausea is still lingering (already checked for pregnancy).
PLEASE, have not been diagnosed with fibro but SOMETHING isnt right and they are telling me my blood work is fine. Opinions please! And really, to stop the YAZ? (Dont want to risk pregnancy)

My blood work all came back fine as well. I'd suggest getting a second opinion from a fibro-friendly doc in your area, I believe webmd has a search engine that can help you with that. You could also ask your regular doc to refer you to a rheumatologist as I believe they often treat fibro. As far as Yaz goes, isn't there a lot of controversy around that drug? I can't use any type of estrogen, but my friends who do seem to really like the ring. But I wouldn't stop anything without having a back-up

Yes, I have heard a lot of controversy around Yaz as well. I would ask your Gyno about other forms of birth control if I were you! I know that at all times all the controversy isn't true, but if you are having problems, I would consider going on a different birth control pill or ring or whatever.
