Is it beneficial to rub or massage the tender areas yourself?
My right side of my neck, skull and right down my spine to by bottom is tender and sore.
Its weird because the left side feels ok.
Even with fibro a good massage feels great. It helps work out some of the knots and spasms. If I am home alone or not, I grab my theracane at first twinge or tightness and work it out before the spasm gets me. That cane has saved me from taking flexeril all day. I only take it at night to keep the spasms from waking me up.
I use tiger balm for the muscles, been curious about the blue emu tho. Has any one tried it?
If you aren't familiar with the Theracane google it, it's a tool I wouldn't want to be without. If I travel, it travels with me . It's hanging on my back right now!
HI Zipster - I do lots of self massage to try and nip things in the bud - I've not come across the theracane that Woodswalker uses - I've just checked it out and it looks great - will be getting myself one this weekend. I have a light sports massage weekly, have trigger point therapy weekly and a hot stone massage monthly. I also use have a massage bed with infrared heaters in - again works wonders x

Very normal to have only on one side. I have had FM for over 24 years and I started out for many years with only right sided pain - it gradually started on my left side and now that side is horrible. I still have pain and weird symptoms everywhere, but mostly now, its left sided. Feels sometimes like someone drew a line down the center of me. ODD for sure. MaryAnn
