I am 27 years old, about a year ago I started to have some lower back problems, they never could really figure out why I had pain in my back and right leg, even after MRI's. The only test that came back abnormal was a nerve test in my lower back. Fast foward a year, after dealing with this for so long, the Anxiety and Stress of not knowing what is happening to me is becoming overwhelming. I have not been diagnosed with Fybro, but have dont alot of research and figured if I posted my symptoms, some may have had familiar experiences. I have had sever panic attacks recently, about a month ago I started to get little shocking sensations in my hands and feet, they were quick but painful. Also my rib cage, specifically on the my right side has been very tender for a long time. Even along my collar bones and sternum. I can rarely lie on my right side for long. That has been going on for a long time, along with wide spread aches and pains all over my body. Last week I started to notice some tingling in my fingers and hands, sometimes it is followed with burning our just aching in the hands, this occurs in the legs as well. Now this week I am getting this shocking almost pins and needles sensations from head to toe. They are not constant, but occur frequently throughout the day, and seem to be getting worse. The muscles in my upper back and neck are just killing me, even up to behind my ears. I mentioned these to my specialist for my back problems, and he told me to go see my Primary care Doc, which I am seeing later this week. I was just curious if any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? This is scaring me to death, I am only 27 years old, and the thought of something serious taking me away from my 4 year old son is terrifying and depressing to me. I was in the Marine Corps until 2004, it amazes me the things that I did back then and had no problem, I get out and live on easy street and fall apart..Just very depressing. Thank you all for any information you have.
I am so sorry you are having these problems. They do sound like fibro, however a lot of other things need to be ruled out. Please keep a journal of all your symptoms and make them known to your doctor. There are medications, supplements and things to make you feel better.
Pammyann thanks you very much for your response, I went to the Doc today and he seems to think its all in my head. Prescribed Cymbalta, so we will see what happens. Having a head to toe physical with bloodwork in 3 weeks. I just dont understand how this can be in my head? Anyway thanks for a repsonse, this just sucks..
thalsey, i am also sorry for what youre going thru. I dont believe its all in your head, not the way the doctor meant it. Youve got too many symptoms going on. Like pammy said it could be fibro, but other things need to be ruled out. With all that tingling going on, you would think the doc would say there is a nerve being pressed and do something about it. We also have tender points in several places on our bodies plus trigger points. Which means our pain can come from somewhere else yet we feel it at another area. Like pam said, keep a journal or your pain, type of pain, level of pain , anywhere from a 1 being low pain, to a 10, being the highest and in between. What did you to do make it worse or better. Write it all down, and have that nerve tested again, did he do anything about it? Be your own advocate, be assertive, and dont let the doc simply say, its just in your head.
Thanks Jen, the pain was so intense in my legs and hands Tuesday night that i had to stay home yesterday, the tingling and numbness has moved into my face. I went back to the Doc today, and he prescribed me steroids and referred me to a neuro. Whatever this is seems to be progressing. I get really sharp pin point pains on the back of my arms, shoulders and shin. Really getting scared here, esspecially since this all seemed to show up out of nowhere. Now I have to wait weeks to see the Neuro.
