I went to a new doctor that specializes in fibro, he suggested a lidocaine iv. he said that is will help for about 3 weeks and that insurance will pay for it. Just wondering if anyone has tried this before and what your results were. So tired of fitting this trash just want some help. I've had fibro since the early 1990's and it just keeps getting worse.
Neither have i, ive heard of lidocaine patches, which are called lidoderm patches which i do use, but never in IV. I would suggest you do much research in this method before allowing it. Ask other doctors what they think of it as well. Id rather be a bit too cautious, than not cautious at all hon. Maybe others here have heard about it and have more info on it. Please take care.

I've also heard of the patches but not an IV. Unless you are talking about an epidoral shot that is given in the back for pain. But not sure what drug is used. I would question also...
Good luck

Ummmmmmmm........this sounds a little scary to me. Sorry - not meant to scare you but just never heard of this. When I hear iv I think needle into vein and through your system right? Maybe I'm just not understanding this right? I don't see how they can do this with a numbing medicine??
I would look into this further if it were me. Maybe he meant shots? Like cortisone or something?? Interesting, would love to hear more.
Same here kdel, sounds a bit scary to me, just hoping she does more research on it, But ive never heard of a lidocaine IV, maybe she'll tell us more soon.
