is it what I think or possibly more?

I just joined the forum to get information from other people dealing with fibromyalgia. I havnt been diagnosed with it from a doctor because I no longer have my health insurance and cant afford to go. During my boy friends schooling for massage therapy he learned about diffferent diseases and when learning about fibromyalgia he realized it sounded like that is what I probably had. I have done some research on the disease and I agree it seems as if I have all the symptoms, however, I know that there are a lot of other diseases out there that have similiar symptoms, so any advice or information that any one has would be greatly appreciated.
About a year ago is when I really started trying to figure out what is really wrong with me and noticed an increase im my symptoms. My body seems to stay in pain, if its not my neck then its my back, if its not my back its my hip, and so on. The pain seems to scatter through out my body. At times my legs and arms feel like they are hurting from deep inside and they feel numb and tingly. I seem to get fatigued a lot easier and have difficulties sleeping sometimes. My circulation seems to be bad causing my feet and my hands to turn freezing often causing me to not be able to use them and it is very difficult to get them to warm up. I go through hot and cold flashes always keeping a jacket or sweater with me because it comes on so quick that if I dont have a jacket I am miserable. My moods seem to change quickly as well and I find myself getting irritated or easily angered or emotional. I also suffer from ibs and acid reflux. I get depressed feeling like something is always wrong with me and I worry alot that it could be something more. It seems like this would be a great place to "self diagnose" by reading what other people are experiencing or going through. I would love to hear form anyone who understands or can offer me insight.... Thank you

I don't know if this will help your situation or not, but in Texas, there is a service for uninsured folks under the "211" services. They are a service that helps you locate medical and mental health providers that either provide a free sevice, or a reduced service that many can afford. I'm thinking that you just dial 211 on the phone to get access to this service.... but it's also on line if you use a search engine.

Self-diagnosis is a dangerous thing queenie. FM can imitate many different illnesses; these all have to be ruled out before a diagnosis can be properly made. I myself stumbled upon FM as "the" answer to what's been wrong all my life; I told my doctor what I thought, and thus began many months of medical tests and specialists appointments, following which my suspicions were confirmed. There is no shortcut.
