I could handle Fibromyalgia better if ____________.

I could handle fibromyalgia better if the pain would only be in one location on the body and stay there.

It is hard for me to deal with fibro because the pain is so wide spread. I can be having pain in my left leg...than suddenly my shoulder is hurting.

Take care all.

........if I could sit all night at a party....

Oh boy, do I feel your pain Johna. I just sent my husband out to a party alone because I'm in a flare and have too much pain everywhere. He wanted to stay home with me, so why did I insist he go? Because I made chocolate cupcakes with Mint Bailey's frosting - couldn't very well give them to the neighbours' kids!

Hey we should have gotten together. My husband went out to eat with his 20 something daughter last night but I couldn't go because I am not walking right. I had a large pepperoni pizza delivered...thin crust with ranch dressing on it. Hmmm of course I didn't eat all I left some for the hubby.

Does weather effect when you have flair up? We've had snow here for the month of February. It started getting warm...than went cold again...now its' warm.

Take care

Johna

Re: I could handle Fibromyalgia better if ____________.

So far no, the weather doesn't affect the fibro, just the arthritis. This flare was caused by having to stand on my commuter train for nearly an hour Friday morning after walking for a half hour to the station - the train before was cancelled so there was standing room only. In hindsight, I should have just taken the next train and been a bit late for work. My legs are still spasming today.

I find I do far better with smaller gatherings when in a lot of pain; my husband reported that "everyone" was there last night. While I was very sorry to miss them all, my body sure wasn't. The cupcakes were devoured.

Re: I could handle Fibromyalgia better if ____________.

I wasn't SO exhausted. The fatigue that I get with it is awful.
I agree too that If i could just hurt in 1 place at a time it would help too.

Re: I could handle Fibromyalgia better if ____________.

im with sam on this one, i could handle it better if i wasnt so exhausted all the time, if i could sleep like a normal person. The constant non stop fatigue is what keeps me homebound, not the pain. Ive got meds for that, but the fatique, is overwhelming and if i were to go somewhere, id fall asleep or just wouldnt enjoy it at all. So for me the fatigue is worse. The lack of restful sleep.

Re: I could handle Fibromyalgia better if ____________.

I could handle Fibro better if....1. I didn't have it or 2. I could plan on going out. I just gave up a trip for our 20th anniversary on St. Paddy's day because I'm always in so much pain. I know I can do the "Blues Bars" and walking from place to place right now seems like a pipe dream. I miss my life. I don't even feel like I'm "ME" anymore. Always complaining or saying Ouch. Walking funny because it hurts to walk normal, having my neck hurt because my damn head seems too heavy for it at times. Yeah, I could handle fibro better if I didn't have it.
