I just wanted to introduce myself and tell someone what I'm going through to see if I'm going insane or if I'm even in the right place or not.

I'm 35 years old. I've never had serious health problems. I had 3 boys by the time I was 21 and am a typical 35 year old, or so I thought. I do have IBS but that's it.

President's Day started out my drama. I had a rash, mostly on my arms but it was intesnse and it spread to my entire body (except my face & neck). Tiny pimple like bumps that itched like something crazy, I got zero sleep due to the scratching feeling. Dr put me on steriods, rash went away. Rash came back after steroids wore off, so they put me on stronger steriods for a longer period of time. Same thing, third time...plus on top of that I woke up last Tuesday morning (and three mornings since then) with this pain: My Knees feel like there are swords digging into them, severe, non stop, intense pain that never lets up. THe same pain is in my ankles and it feels like I'm going to break my ankles if I attempt to walk. The pain and cramps are unbearable. I usually take Aleve ONLY when I have bad cramps, that's it. I'm not a person who is effected by pain or needs pain pills, even when I had my wisdom teeth pulled I didn't take meds.

This pain was so bad, I thought I was going to die. It was all night long. It lasted until about 10am then poof. GONE. It happened last tuesday & wednesday and then again 2 nights ago and last night. I've been on Darvocet since last Wednesday (only at night) and everything was fine until Tuesday night and now I've been on Darvocet and Hydrocodone to ease the pain. I've missed work due to not being able to function with all of the medicine that I"m taking, I'm a walking zombie.

I have an appt with a Rheumo on Monday. Do you think they can help me? Does this make any sense to anyone? I feel like I'm going crazy.

Please let me know your thoughts, I'll do anything to stop this pain and make sure I stop whatever it is I'm doing that's triggering it too!

I understand the tremendous pain thing. My Fibro didn't come on that quickly, it took years to get as bad as it is now & I have just finally been diagnosed. I hope your appointment the the rheum goes well. I would really like to hear what they have to say. Please come back and let us know

txocdmom, have you stayed in a hotel or camping cabin or rental of any sort lately? Or has anyone stayed in your home recently? Bed bugs, no kidding, can cause that kind of a rash, and they are being found in fine hotels as well as camping cabins/lodges. How they get in homes is by baggage. Quick way to find out is to lift up your box springs and take a look. It would explain why the rash keeps coming back. I would contact the CDC and get their input today. I would also try some capsaicin -- the strongest you can get -- and apply it to the painful areas. It will burn, but may help, and is better than being knocked out by the meds. Take care.

We haven't at all. Bedbugs was the first thing I considered, my Dr quickly ruled that out from the appearance of things I guess. I haven't had the rash in 2 weeks, just the sharp pain. So far no cancellations so I guess it will be Monday before I hear anything. No stabbing pain last night but I woke up at 2 and popped another hydrocodone just in case because I'm so scared of that nonstop stabbing pain. I don't want to become dependent on these pills though. I try to wait as long as possible, but as soon as the pressure feeling comes back and it's hard to walk I take another one, which is usually 5 or 6 hours.
