Could this potentially be fibromyalgia?
My mom is only 48 and has been in pain for awhile now. She says that she has a burning sensation inside her skin, and that her muscles are always sore all over her body, and has very bad nausea. Some days are better than others, she may have a string of two or three really good days, then feel awful and it may be hard for her to eat. She has diarrhea sometimes, but no constantly or anything like that. It seems that her pain gets worse when she takes her medicine (she has GERD, anxiety, and diverticulitis). She also has difficulty falling and staying asleep. She sometimes has twitches when doing things, but I haven't noticed it too bad. Does this sound like fibromyalgia? Her doctor won't refer her to a neurologist because he claims that what she has can't be fibromyalgia due to her not feeling pain when pressure is put on the muscles. Is this correct, or should she find a different doctor? What else could this possibly be?
