Skin feels burned

With Fibromyalgia, is it possible to have a feeling of a bad sun burn, when not being in the sun. It travels from both my arms, to my legs and feet. Never in the same place much, and drives me nuts. Heat, and stress makes it come on the most. Sometimes it makes my skin feel sore to the touch. I get itching too, and want to itch my skin off, that is on my right fore arm the most and around my lips.

Just want to know, I see a Neurologist on the 22nd. of this month.

Do I tell him every little thing I feel, even the ones I think are stupid and mean nothing. Some stuff I think is just normal. But I can hear you now, tell him everything and let him decide.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave. Have you seen a rheumotologist? I tell the doctors everything. I don't think they listen to half of it....lol

Re: Skin feels burned

Thanks for the short reply!

I have been seeing a Physiologist for 6 years. I have Spinal Degeneration, nerve damage in both arms and legs, and stenosis. I have been fine until this year. Now I get all this pain stuff.

I have had EMG's and MRI's yearly.

My Physiologist has me lined up to see a Neurologist in a few days.

And now you ask about a Rheumotologist?

Can the Nero find stuff the Rheumotologist can find out, or maybe see them both.... so confused.

I have such a laundry list of pain and symptoms. They come and go, 2 days ago, OMG my skin burned so bad I wanted to strip naked to rid of my cloths touching me. Yesterday I was fine, very little symptoms.... What The HELL is that about.

I as others (like me) feel I am going crazy and dreaming this stuff up.

And being sleepy.... OMG The night before I felt so good, I slept 10 hours and was a good 10 hours, last night I slept 10 hours and feel so far good, just some itching and tingling.

So back to info for the Doctor, do I be a baby and cry about every little pain I have? Or even had over the past 6 months.... OMG they will lock me up! LOL

Thanks for your time in reading my stuff.......
Dave

Re: Skin feels burned

Dave, I would take the time to make a detailed written list of all your symptoms, even those that may seem unimportant. Medicine is trial and error, weeding out the symptoms/causes can lead to proper diagnosis. By all means take a copy of all labs, xrays, etc to your appointment. I do want to suggest a Rheumatologist as I do think that is probably the next step, considering the neurologist does not find anything earth-shattering. My reasoning is because of the skin issues you mention, the burning, the worsening with heat or stress. I suggest that you take a look at the Lupus board specifically the sticky posts at the top of the forum that deals with lab tests as it has a reference to one of the best sites for info on Lupus /FMS and the incidence of FMS in 25% of Lupus patients. I know that I have both and I have the terrible burning that you describe as well as the dry, itching, skin. I have a terrible time with the burning pain and I slept about 30 minutes tops last night and know today is going to be a long one. I feel that you can find some valuable info on some of the questions you may have at this point if you read on that site. FMS and Lupus have many overlapping symptoms but the treatment plan is totally different. But from what you are writing, it seems that you are following the usual path through the rounds of different specialists in search of answers. Ultimately, if you have FMS and /or Lupus, a Rheumatologist is the one to manage your treatment. Hope you find answers soon.
