Well, I have been taking Zanaflex 12 mg at bedtime for a couple of years. Supposedly it is a muscle relaxer but I was given to help me sleep, which it has helped more so in the beginning than now. I was given a new direction for the dosage at last Rheumatologist visit : One 4mg TID and 12 Mg at bedtime. I tried taking the daytime dose first time yesterday and immediately had to lie down and then I was out for a couple of hours. However, I was not hurting too bad yesterday. Does anyone else take that large a dosage and did it take some time in order to tolerate without it zonking you all the time? I know I would not want to just lay around and sleep all the time. Does anyone have any wisdom on this med at this dose?
I haven't taken that, but I was on baclofen for about a year 15mg/day, and, yes, at first my body begged for naps every afternoon and would steal them if I sat down for more than a few minutes.
It did wear off, though, in just a week or two as I recall.
