Hello everyone,
Thanks for reading my thread. I know there must be a lot of threads with the same questions as mine, but searching the first few pages, I didn't see one!
I am going to be calling the doctor Tuesday for an appointment. My first question is, can I just go to my regular family doctor or is there a specialist I should talk to this about?
I'm not even sure what I have. I have SEVERE anxiety and mood swings. I'm going to be divorced soon if I don't fix this. I am very tired a lot of the times and have trouble concentrating. I'll be in the middle of a sentence and totally lose my train of thought.
Another symptom is the pain of course... If someone touches me in the right spot the pain is almost unbearable. Like just tonight, I reached in the backseat to hand something to my daughter and my shoulder blade pressed against the car seat. Hurt VERY bad for at least 30-45 seconds. Probably 2-3 minutes before the pain was completely gone. Sometimes if I scratch an itch too hard, I go through the same pain.
I recently had comments that my lymph nodes looked swollen??!! Weird I thought, but read that could be a symptom. I also feel hot a lot and sometimes swear I'm coming down with a virus, but never do. I used to just brush that off, but then again tonight, I read that was a sign!
I also have a lot of headaches! I probably have them at least 4 times a week. Sometimes they turn into migraines. They tend to be tension headaches too. I read that can be caused by tight, painful muscles in your upper back and neck.
I also have joint pain that flares up with temperature, humidity, and pressure changes. Sometimes if I end up getting cold, then my legs (from my knees to my ankles) will just throb. I have to take Tylenol/Ibuprofen to get it to stop. Sometimes my wrists to my elbows will hurt too.
Now, what I don't have....constant all the time, all over body pain. I'm not sure what is meant by "flare ups" either. Does this put you all out for a few days or something? I haven't had that.
I'm just so confused and concerned about this. I would have never dreamed I had Fibromyalgia. I have two friends who have it and after telling them a few times how I didn't feel well, they said it sounded like what they had.
Thanks for reading if you've made it this far!
I would greatly appreciate any advice you all may have. I understand that you have to rule out everything else before you get a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia, but from the list of symptoms I've seen online, I think I fit in pretty well.
Thanks again!
