i keep biting my cheeks in mouth. HELP

I keep biting my cheeks in my mouth and i have a line in the middle of my cheeks on both sides, I caught myself last week I don't do it on purpose. But both my cheeks hurt now. I could be grinding my teeth to maybe when I'm sleeping and not know it. But does anyone have problems bitting their cheeks?

Re: i keep biting my cheeks in mouth. HELP

Hi Snow: I've had the same difficulty. I have been through cycles where I bit the inside of my cheeks, bit my lip, or bit my tongue. But these things all seem to be cycles and last only for awhile. Also, I was grinding my teeth during sleep and the dentist made a night guard for me to wear at night.

oh so it's a fibro thing? I never bit my lip. my cheeks seem to always hurt from bitting them by mistake.

Snow: I hear you. It is annoying. And once the tissue is swollen where it's been bitten, it can keep happening. What a merry-go-round!

Me too! I used to worry about it, now I know what it is. I clench all night long and my cheek muscles are sore and even seem to have a lump (both sides). I know what it's from, didn't ever make the fibro connection though.

Re: i keep biting my cheeks in mouth. HELP

Hi All,

I clench as well at night and have the white line on the inside of my cheek. Also, I believe a thyroid problem could have some play in this. I know my tongue will 'swell' as do the tissues in my mouth when my thyroid is not working optimally. Anyone else have this same issue?

L.
