SO much Pain with Chryo procedure

Went yesterday & had chryo done on my occipital nerves. The needles they stuck in the base of my skull burned like hell. My head & eyes are swollen. My head is pounding. This was done by an unsympathetic dr who complained about how he didn't know how he was going to do the procedure because apparently I am the only woman with long hair that he has done this procedure on. He wasn't easy with me at all. Very rude & cold. Is it outta line to ask my family dr to refer me to a new pain specialist?

I'm just in tears AGAIN today with pain, confusion & frusteration. I'm so depressed & I have my 5 month old to care for. Fibro is making it so hard to be a good mommy & wife. It's not fair.

Did this procedure **** off the Fibro due to the "digging" around in my nerves with the huge needles? The tops of my arms are weak & my neck hurts. Has anyone had this done & have Fibro?

Re: SO much Pain with Chryo procedure

What the heck does the length of your hair have to do with a medical treatment??? If you are unhappy with him definitely ask for someone else. Remember they are working for you. You are hiring them to treat you and if you aren't satisfied please move on, staying with a provider you are not happy with is only going to intensify your fibro and yes, **** it off...Peace of mind and satisfaction with a medical provider is so important in any illness. Especially fibro, stress is a huge antagonist...Be totally honest with your primary care doc. I would never stay with a provider that treated me like that. Good luck dear heart..peace and love be with you..

OMG,what a jerk! I hope you feel better soon!
Is there another Dr in that office that can treat you? If so, ask for an appt with them next time instead... You shouldn't need a referral for that... Actually, if you can, get in to see them ASAP so maybe they can help you with what's going on now... Tell them over the phone what is going on with you. Refuse to see the same Dr.
