How to handle Flare Up with vomiting & pain

So, I'm so tired of my extra weight, I did the bike 3 days In a row, 50 mins each time. I've been working my way up slowly but sick of that. So, I over did it... I have been getting worst since the cold weather.
I flared up so bad! My whole body hurt, so uncomfortable, then the migrain like headache & sick stomach. When I flare like this I can't keep anything down & end up throwing up stomach acid. I did this around 10x. I tried keeping stuff down with no lick. I finally just gave up, woulda been sick more.
I suck on mints which help my stomach alittle. Gingerale doesn't help. Crackers & other breads are awful coming up.
Sorry to be graphic... But the ibs is no fun either... I just know I'm gonna be hospitalized for dehydration some day.., been close but to stubborn...
Anyhow. Hadn't been that bad since our summer vacation... I know that since it's gotten worst, doesn't take much to get this sick. To bad it's such a crappy diet...
Other than not over doing it... do you have any tips? What can we do about the getting sick? I don't think I could keep any teas down... Without being able to keep food down, can't take pain meds...
Better today, sore & grumpy, alittle nausea but much better. Was able to keep alittle food down today.

Tori, is it possible you're vomiting as part of your migraines? Do you take anything for them, maybe controlling the migraine will help with the nausea and vomiting?

Re: How to handle Flare Up with vomiting & pain

I go through periods of time where I'm nauseous allot. Often I'll be nauseous then the headache will come on. I'm still trying to figure out if the nausea shows up because I'd been over doing it or stress... The combo is always bad...
I will take tramadol or vicodin (eat first) but the headache will get worst till I'm really sick & hurt so bad... The meds don't seem to help with the headaches at all... Then when I'm sick nothing stops it. Mints help my stomach feel alittle better but don't last long & come back up... Even just a sip of fluid doesnt stay down & if I drink more, I get sick more...
I thought this was common for most of us?

Re: How to handle Flare Up with vomiting & pain

I vomit when I am flaring. Which is NOW. ugh! My NP prescribed phenergan gel, which I LOVE, but I cannot take it during the day because it knocks me out. Sometimes a little bit of ginger ale helps. I was thinking about seeing if I can get a script for Zofran (provided that my insurance will pay for it.)

((hugs)), Diane

Maybe have your doctor prescribe you Zophran for when you have a flare up. Its for nausea and it helps alot, but does not make you sleepy!

Re: How to handle Flare Up with vomiting & pain

Thank You!
I've never heard of it... I'd try anything... It unbelievable how bad it gets... I think it's worst than any flu I've ever had... I'm hoping my dr will write me up one... He's not very good at listening...
