Baclofen???

Anyone take this at all? It's a muscle relaxer. Never heard of it before.

Re: Baclofen???

I took it for quite a while. I believe my dose was 5 mg three times a day. I was a little drowsy in the beginning, but much less than on Soma or Flexeril. It significantly reduced muscle spasms and prevented them from getting "stuck" for weeks at a time.

Re: Baclofen???

So less drowsy than flexiril? Awesome!!! I hated flexiril. I have a script for 10mg but gonna break it in half. Thanks

Re: Baclofen???

hi,
i have taken it from time to time for over 7 years. just started on it every day. i love it. works and no drowsy, drugged feeling. i take 20 mg in the morning. the only thing i have noticed is taking it at night puts my colon to sleep and i get constipated. miralax fixes that. giggle. i find for myself just in the morning is perfect. good luck on it. i hope it is tolerated by your body well.
peace,
blue

Re: Baclofen???

I hope I have the same results . I can't function if it puts me to sleep or I feel drugged. I will try and deal with the side effects, if any, I get.

Re: Baclofen???

HEY MOM477
i took it for a few months at 5mg 3x's a day for my back spasms and it worked well at first but i think my body got used to it and my dr increased it to 10mg 3x's a day. since i have a low tolerance for pain meds it made me sleep all the time especially while lying on my heating pad. this stopped working at some point and i was given klonopin 2mg for my severe pain.

Re: Baclofen???

I haven't gotten much luck from it. First day it didn't put me to sleep but after that it has and I feel hungover in the mornings. I just can't take muscle relaxers at all and I keep getting prescribed it. Ugh.

Re: Baclofen???

I have taken it when I had a really awful repetitive visible and rythmic spasming of my trapezius muscle, 24 hrs/day. Took that and clonopin for months. Don't remember that I was sleepy on it. I have also gotten a relaxer called zanaflex. I don't know if it always does, but that Rx came in a capsule. I bought some empty gel caps at whole foods, and I would split the contents, to avoid the sleepiness.
