i have had fibro for 20 years and have had some upper right abdominal pain just below my ribs for years (all test neg) recently the pain is also to the right side of my spine and much, much worse when i drive...any ideas

have you had an mri or ct scan of your spine to rule out damage? fibro can mess with anything as you already know. giggle. i have spine problems also. i have sjogrens disease and it is causing inflamation of my entire spine. a test worth having if you have not already. if the pain is not on the spine but the tissue next to it, massage is helpful.
i use a heated car seat it helps so very much. i also find driving the most difficult and yea it sure does distract me, giggle.

I agree, fibro can take something & make it 10x worst... You really should do what blue said. Also see if it could be gall stones. Those were painful & I remember how it was for me. But I've known other people with it that had different symptoms. My husband also gets bad stomach & back pain from kidney stones... It could be anything so please talk to your doctor & have them run tests. Not everything is fibro. Sounds like you have something going on other than fm.
test for gall bladder have always been negative and the pain in in the soft tissue near my spine and right under the ribs on the right side...i do have an appt. with my md in june and will bring all these things to her attention. I know we always want to blame everything on fibro and god knows, with so many symptoms, it often is fibro related. thanks
