Does she have fibromyalgia

Hi, I am thinking my daughter might have fibromyalgia. It does run in our family and when she was younger, she had mono. She is 34, this has been going on for a couple years. It started with dizzy spells, and she has various symptoms that come and go. Right now she is experiencing back pain, her legs feel tingly and numb, she is getting stabbing like pains in her shoulder and back, hip pain in the groin area, and extreme fatigue sometimes. It is so hard for her to work and she has a disabled child which is taxing in itself. She has an appt with a spine doctor tommorrow. She has had tests upon tests from her gp to a neurologist to a chiropractor. I am sure many of you can relate to that. She has been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, migraines, and bursitis. The meds sometimes give her nausea or maybe it is the fibromyalgia cause sometimes the meds help. Anyway, what should she tell the spinal doc or should she be seeing a different specialist. I told her to print out a symptoms list and honestly check off all her symptoms and take this with her to the doctor. I worry about things like MS though no one in our family has ever had that. Thanks to all of you who read this and wishing all of you a pain free day. Kasey

Re: Does she have fibromyalgia

She needs to go to the doctor and take all her symptoms and what tests she has had. Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion as it can mimic so many other conditions. Going to the spine doctor to see if there is a pinched nerve or anything like that is not a bad idea. I hope she had a full blood panel including all the thyroid tests. I just recently found out my thyroid was not being treated properly. While I still have the Fibro, I feel tons better now that my thyroid meds are working properly.
