Ssi

How many of you had to divorce or separate to get benefits to help with this illness?? I never worked and it sure is taking a toll on what little my husband brings in especially since hes on disability too. One of my meds alone these past two months is 243.00.. thats not including all the others im on daily.

Re: Ssi

I'm already alone so I don't count...but I think that's crazy ...How are you supposed to live if you aren't getting some kind of help?...It takes so long to get benefits... Why would having a spouse have to determine if you get disability help or not?

Re: Ssi

If your husbands income is even a dollar or so.. ours being twelve dollars..past what they figure your income should be. You cant get help. Hes on Medicare, cancer in the picture now for him.. Hopefully they got it all, but if not his bills could mount up, and I had a 1,495 dollar a month spend down.. Unless Im hospitalized I dont get help. Just to go see my dr. is 143 bucks to walk in.. after a while things can mount up. Its all so sad for people who really need help. Yet others can get it that just flat dont wanna work.
