Smelly Feet?

I responded to someone about this on another board and thought I would post it here as well.....

My son's friend had a horrible problem with smelly feet. He used to spend the night (almost every night) at our home during the summer. I spoke to my foot dr about it and she suggested something that was easy to do and cheap! I would bet my last dollar that it will work for you too.
Ready?
Deodorant ! I am not trying to be funny either. Buy any brand of aresol deodorant and spray it on your feet after your shower or anytime of the day. My podiotrist said that all the aresol (spray on, not roll on) deodorants have aluminum in them and thats what quells (stops) the smell.
So get on out there and quell the smell! You are going to be amazed !
P.S. Maybe get yourself some new shoes to celebrate. Plus, the old ones are prob stinky.

Another thing that helps is wearing white, 100% cotton socks!

Re: Smelly Feet?

However some bad foot odor is caused by a bad bacteria. My wife had that problem. She finally went to the doctor and one round of a presciption drug ( the name excapes me) cleared up her problem for good.

Re: Smelly Feet?

Another method to get rid of the smellies is to soak your feet in warm (not hot) tea! Make the tea pretty strong, soak them for 30-45 minutes, and do that 2-3 times a week. Dont forget to lotion those feets too! And Amen to the 100% cotton socks. Dyes in socks are a big culprit, as are wearing hose (which dont absorb any of the sweat).

Re: Smelly Feet?

another vote for the cotton socks. i wear white low ankle socks under all my regular socks...absorbs all the moisture. my feet are dry almost immediately after i take them off and no smelly socks or shoes.
it really works.
there's also a rock salt sold as a natural deodorant...i ground it up with a dremel tool and put it in my sandals during the summer.

Re: Smelly Feet?

Just read about it today... Gonna try it when i get home:

Try a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water to fight body odor. Use one teaspoon of peroxide (3&#37 to one cup (8 ounces) of water. Wipe this on affected areas (underarm, feet, groin) with a washcloth. This may help destroy some of the bacteria that creates odor
