Gross hard, cracked heels! Best remedy?

All the men in my family have really thick gross skin on their heels, and i'm no exception...

My heels are very hard, cracked and rough...i've used exfoliating stones and heel creams, and they work to some extent, but it not that well....It's kinda ambarassing when i scratch my girlfriend while we're making love or sleeping.

What do all you people out there use to get rid of ths gross problem?

There are ma million and 1 products out there for dry, cracked heels.
My POD. said to use sandpaper (believe it or not) to smoothe out the rough stuff so medication etc. could penetrate easier. I have found neosporin works for me.
again there are a million supposed cures out there...

I have excactly the opposite situation. My husband has very smooth feet without applying any stuff. My feet will start cracking in November and if I don't apply vaseline every day, they even bleed.

I have this same problem but i make sure that i get a pedicure every 2 weeks (Even in the winter every month) and every 2-3 days I mix a few teaspoons of sugar with olive oil ( Can be the cheap kind from the 99 cents store) and i rub my feet with it. Its better than any seasalt scrub. I find the salt in that drys out my feet! I do that the day after a pedicure. Also sometimes if i am lazy, after a shower i mix vaseline and lotion together and rub my foot down really well. Thats what works for me.

If it's really bad, you can get a prescription from most likely a podiatrist or a dermatologist for a cream that has I believe a high acid content.. it eats away at the dead skin. My mom tried the special Bath and Body Works socks, the pumice, foot files... nothing worked, but now she uses the Carmol. Check it out online!

Re: Gross hard, cracked heels! Best remedy?

Thanks for all of the replies....i thought it just took a lot of work and time to keep my feet not rock-hard, but i was just wodnering if anybody had found one technique or product that worked extremely well....

I'm going to the dermatologist about my acne, so i'll ask him about Carmol...

Thanks!

"Corn husker's lotion" works well on dry/chapped/cracked hands, so it should work on feet too. You can buy it at most any drug store. I use it on my hands in the winter. My podiatrist also suggested the sandpaper. Haven't tried it yet, though.
