Protecting bunions

I seriously stubbed my bunioned toe on a table whilst cleaning my appartmnt. It swelled up and is now very brused. It isn't the first time I have aggravated my toes by bumping them at home. I wear socks to hide my ugly feet from my room mate, but slippers are often too tight and uncomfortable and shoes are not practical inside.

Do other people have problems with bumping their bunions at home and if so, what do you wear around the house to protect your feet? It sounds silly having to choose sensible footwear for inside...but my feet are at the stage where it is painful if they get bumped or stood on. I am also only in my very early 20's - does anyone else have this problem at this age?

Re: Protecting bunions

I had bunions all my life, or at least it seems that was. I could never stand to go barefoot. The only thing that will help protect your bunions is a good pair of slippers or shoes. I am concerned that slippers are to tight for you, it sounds as if your bunions are pretty severe. Maybe you should make an appointment with a good podiatrist and have your feet looked at. Far be it from me to encourage surgery, but maybe you are at that point.

Best wishes - eko
