due to excercising wearing trainers which dug into my foot just after the toe area has left my foot swollen, 3 weeks on and it hasnt gone down, iv been to the doctors but he was not much help, i think i may have damaged my foot.
anyone have any advise as to how i can get the swelling away?
im trying to stay off it as much as i can but it doesnt seem to help
Well for starters, staying off of it helps but you might need to elevate it as well- think 6" above your hips while sitting. Prop it on pillows in bed at night. Consider icing it for 15-20 minutes every 1-3 hours. An anti-inflammatory (Ibuprofren or Tylenol) couldn't hurt either. Feet tend to swell easier than other areas of the body. If this doesn't seem to help after a few days, I'd see a podiatrist for a second opinion!
