Help please

I've been having a problem with my foot for quite a while now, and I haven't been able to figure out what's causing it. When bending my big toe, I get a sharp pain kind of below my big toe and radiating on that bone back towards the middle of my foot. Sometimes when I bend it or have it in the wrong position it will lock up and feel like an extreme charlie horse except for the fact it's in my foot. I also get the charlie horse feeling when I walk around bare foot and have actually thought I stepped on something because the feeling is so sharp in my foot. Does anybody have any idea on what could be causing this. I've always been active in sports... soccer, basketball, track, and so on, but I'm only twenty so I wouldn't think it could be arthritis already...??
