Question Intractable Plantar Keratosis

I am having surgery on my feet for IPK and I am wondering if anyone can give an idea what to expect?
The doctor said he is goint to have to break about 3 bones and remove a few and pull skin over 3 points on my foot. He said I will be in a cast for 3 months. I am interested in knowing about the pain factor. How long before the pain minimizes and how long before I can actually walk on the foot with out any pain? I've just never heard of anyone having this kind of major surgery on their feet.

Please help!
