Unhappy Very painful new small bunion

Has anyone ever had a small bunion that caused a great deal of pain? I had a bunion removed on my left foot and a morton's neuroma and now I have a newly developing bunion on my right foot. It isn't very large at all but it hurts constantly. It hurts as soon as I get up in the morning before I ever put my shoes on. Also, I wear flip-flops most of the time so it has no pressure from shoes. Has any of you had this problem? I appreciate any advice.

Re: Very painful new small bunion

I am soon to have surgery for Morton's Neuroma. What procedure did they use on you and was it successful? How long was the recovery? I also have bunions, but they don't bother me as long as I wear wide enough shoes. Did you have the neuroma and bunion taken care of at the same time?

Sharon

Re: Very painful new small bunion

Sharon, I had the bunion surgery 9/06 but I had the MN surgery 12/28/07. They did my surgery through the top (dorsal). It is doing pretty good. It still has the 'shocking' pains at times where the nerve stump hasn't completely healed I guess. These don't occur as much as they used to. I still have alot of pain in that foot but I'm afraid there's more going on. I haven't been back to my surgeon to discuss it yet. I hope you have good luck with your surgery. All of this foot pain is a pain in the butt isn't it?

Re: Very painful new small bunion

debbie g, all I can say is "ain't that the truth!" This little baby is a big bunch of pain! Seems like if one foot don't hurt the other does. That used to be the way of it anyway......now its usually both all the time. Did you have your bunions removed? Did you have them on both feet? Also, do you know anything about tailors bunions?

Re: Very painful new small bunion

debbie g, thanks for your reply. I hope that your feet are doing better now? When I had my other bunion removed my dr. said that they measure them as a guide as to whether or not to remove them so thats why I didn't know if they would. I didn't even have this one then though so I didn't ask about it. I just hate to go back to the dr again..........

Re: Very painful new small bunion

only go back if you are in severe pain. surgery should be the last resort.
