Unhappy foot injury causing pain

Hi,
I have had a problem with my foot with the last 2 and a half years. I got a kick playing soccer on the top of the foot (Clash of legs). My foot swelled up but when the swelling went down I had pain which was deep in the bottom of my foot right under the bone where I got the kick. I have had xray, 2 MRI scans isotone bone scan and nothing has shown up. I had physio, osteopath, shock treatment, acupuncher and none of this helped. I went for exploratory surgery over 3 months ago .The surgeon did not see to much wrong this is what he done. (Longitudinal incision over the tender spot. the plantar aponeurosis was divided and the flexor digitorum muscle was freed up from its attachments. This potentially was scarred a little bit to the aponeurosis. Deep to this the lateral plantar nerves was identified and identified and dissected free to make sure that there was no neurological impingement). I am still getting the same pain after recovering from the surgery. I have returned to the surgeon since the surgery and he is not sure what is wrong. He thinks that it may be nerve damage that is causing the pain but he is not sure. He prescribed some medication (Lyrica 150mg) to take for 3 months. If anybody out there have any ideas, suggestions or may have had or come across similar problem in your time I would be very great full to hear from you.

Re: foot injury causing pain

I'm really sorry to hear about what you're experiencing. Though I can't possibly imagine, it must be painful. If it's a nerve problem as suspected, maybe you should consult a neuro specialist just in case.
Just take note to check if the medicine which your doctor prescribed to you might have side effects.
I'm sorry for not being able to be of great help but I do wish you all the best.
