I hope someone can offer some input or comments from their personal experience. My wife had surgery back in July of 2008. I believe she had an evan's osteotomy with a cadaver bone, metatarsal osteotomy and some procedure in the tendon behind her foot. She had fairly severe pronation on her left foot (only one, thank god) and was having tremendous knee pain and back pain (thought as a result of her grossly misaligned foot).
We are now 10 months post-op and she is doing OK. Her big problem right now is that everyday if she does no stretching of her foot she comes with virtually no side-to-side flexibility and that is what basically is causing the pain. The doctor knows this and we have started stretching usually between 10-30 minutes daily. Basically I manually rotate her foot in circles and pull her left foot inward and hold the stretch. I am 99% certain that she didn't have a bone fusion. DId anyone have any issues with their lateral flexibility and did they find anything specific that helped? The other problem is that although it feels good after we stretch, the permanent improvement in flexibility, are occurring extremely slowly, if at all.
