Friend w/diabetic calluses

My daughter's fiance is a diabetic and has calluses that keep opening up; he is currently without health insurance and needs an alternative treatment for the calluses. He currently has orthodics to help minimize the calluses but he and Rachel are running a restaurant now so he is on his feet a lot.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Friend w/diabetic calluses

It is very honorable of you to try to find help for your daughter's fiance. Diabetic foot problems can turn into nightmares if they are not caught early and treated. Your daughter's fiance should go and see a podiatrist, as soon as possible. Even if he thinks it is a minor problem, it can turn into a major problem. With diabetes, healing in the foot is very difficult. Even if he has to take off work, he should see the doctor because if his foot problem gets worse, he will not be able to work on his feet at all. Also, there are shoes made especially for diabetic people, they tend to be on the softer side. Good luck.
