Hi again everyone,
Well I had the second metatarsal shortened on July 15th, had a pin in, that only lasted one week before I wacked it with the refrigerator door. Now, the third toe is forcing the second toe up and it's causing the reconstructed toe to misalign. My doc wants me to tape my toes for the next month but I am having aterrible time doing so. I'm supposed to tape the second toe so that it is straight and pulled slightly downward. I need to tape the little toe and the next two together and pull them outward, toward the outside of my foot, so they don't interfeer with the alignment of the second toe. BUT, my hubby and I can not get the taping right. It hurts so much, my foot feels very broken in this position. I'm sure we aren't getting it correct, because when the doc did it, it felt great. Can anyone tell me how to do this taping procedure? Doc also said i could start wearing sneakers, but i can barely get that foot into a Croc. What can I do? I wish there were some sort of brace to hold all 4 of those toes where they need to be.
