Thumbs down crushed heel bone

:Hi, not sure if anyone can advise. I broke my heel bone back in November 2009. They put 13 screws and 4 plates in it to fix it and I've just completed my three months of non-bearing. I had a cast on for 6 weeks and now in a boot. I should be starting physical therapy shortly. The only problem is that I really don't know how to get back on my feet so hopefully the physical therapist will assist with this process as I've spent the last 3 1/2 months in the wheel chair and on crutches. Re: crushed heel bone

The doc will advise how much weight you can bear. Some people are partial some 100%. Twelve weeks seems to be common for 100%. Therapist will work with you.

You won't just switch to walking either. Atleast I didn't. I broke femur on one side and heel on other. I was in wheelchair. Would use walker a bit, then back to wheelchair, eventually you give up the chair. Used cane and walker for a bit, then just cane, then no cane.

You will know, especially if there is something you really want to do. I was riding motorcycles, just shy of 4 months. I would sit on it. Try to get it up. Try to operate the brake. Then finally did it.
